Alimony payments Empty Alimony deduction

Post  William D McConnaughy Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:21 pm

You would need to file an amended return for last year to include the alimony deduction you erroneously failed to take. You need to do this on an IRS Form 1040-X. This is a very straightforward, easy return to do, and inexpensive as well if you want to have a pro tax preparer do it for you. Enjoy your refund... Very Happy
